4 Point Perspective To Education

Empathy and Empowerment:

A
s an artist and educator, I strive to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their artistic expressions while recognizing the power of their unique voices. By understanding trauma as a catalyst for creation, I aim to instill in my students the profound notion that their experiences, no matter how challenging, can be harnessed to fuel their creative endeavors. Through empathy, they develop a deeper connection to others who have faced adversity, fostering a compassionate community of artists.

Student-Centered Learning:

My teaching approach centers around student control and self-assurance. I recognize that each student possesses their own personal artistic language, and it is my role to guide them in discovering and nurturing it. I encourage critical thinking, intuition, and curiosity, allowing students to take ownership of their creative journeys.

Inclusivity and Adaptability:

With a background in Community Art Education, I am committed to inclusivity and adaptability in my teaching. I am trained to tailor curriculums and education plans to cater to the needs of diverse learners, including Neurodiversity, Diverse Learning Needs, Physical Diversities, Cognitive Variances, Learning Variabilities.

"My goal is to create an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to express themselves through art. By embracing diverse perspectives and fostering an open dialogue, I aim to create an inclusive space where students can learn from one another's experiences.”

The Healing Power
of Art:

At the core of my teaching philosophy lies the belief in the healing power of art. I view art as a medium through which individuals can navigate their trauma, find solace, and embark on a journey of self-discovery

My own experience with overcoming adversity and illness has deepened my appreciation for the therapeutic potential of creative expression. I strive to impart to my students that art is not only a means of self-expression but also a tool for healing, both for themselves and for those who engage with their work.

Technology

A B.F.A in Film Animation and 4 years of experience teaching technology to diversified learners, new immigrants, adult, and youth from kindergarten to college. Has delivered me into rapidly changing systems of learning within our schools. Technology is now intertwined at an ever increasing rate with how students learn, research, and most importantly communicate with each other.

We introduce and teach students a media that will allow them to use the technologies that so consume our modern world, apply their own creativity to it, in the hope that it becomes not a distraction, but a mobile tool of self-exploration.
